Having played with FreeNas and Nexenta just wondering how I can present four 1TB disks as a single pool of disks be it any form of raid etc.

Using this for storing Movies and TV shows etc and would be much easier if didnt have to work through 4 disks

NasLite supports raid but only via 'true' raid controllers - not software raid via the motherboard or cheap cards

search back through old threads - there is plenty of posts on the subject

To expand on Tony's post.

NASLite does not have any software RAID functionality built in nor can it be added by the user. A real RAID card with it's own processor and firmware is the only path available at this time in NASLite. There has been talk from the developers of adding software based RAID to the package but to do this there would have to be some fairly drastic changes to the release. Tony and Ralph have the attitude that stability and data integrity are paramount to any release and so are cautious about any radical changes.

Personally I think the hardware based RAID is a better choice anyway. 3Ware/LSI cards are the best choice at this time for hardware cards.
