Location: Up State NY in the USA!!!!
The stick is only hit for the boot and changes to the config. Other than that it is not used. I have even removed it and put a new load on, reinserted it and saved the config, then rebooted with the new OS.

Just a follow up... Everything went smooth...

The only hiccup was a bios setting for the emulation type of the usb device... "auto" didnt work, had to be set to "fixed disk"

I also used the usb dongle from newegg without issue

Thanks for everyone's input
