Hello, I was wanting to set up my NAS box as an FTP that I can access remotely. My only concern is that there is no password protection on it, so if I open it up to the world, anyone could potentially get on it. Is there any way to password protect the FTP service? Also has anyone successfully set up a dyndns account that will access your NAS through FTP? I am having problems with that as well...

Thanks

something there - just search using - password - and it gets some results - the thread titles help from there

For what it is worth, Compwizard....I have the Gene6FTP server and Abyss webserver on an old modest network PC. Both of these apps. work superbly well. I FTP (SSL explicit) in via my Dyndns host and access the NL system with no problems at all in over 5 years. Web access (https) works equally well for file access and monitoring. I also have a VPN link into my network gateway and Remote Desktop on one PC so that I have the same presence as on the home net.
