I have NASLite-M2 set up with 2 X 1TB hard drives.
In the root of one drive I have a Media folder and within this an MP3 folder with numerous sub-folders corresponding to individual albums. All 6,000+ tracks are being served up to my iTunes player (not sure if this is via DAAP or UPnP?)
I added a new folder album last night, within Media/MP3, but it's not being served up to iTunes. The mp3 songs are there and I can play them with Windows Media Player. I telnetted into the server and 're-indexed' both DAAP and UPnP - but still can't see them in iTunes. What am I doing wrong??

Is it necessary for me to purchase this software again in order to address this problem?

The developers are busy working on the next iteration of the software and are kind of slow to respond right now.

The issue you are having is known of but Apple being Apple you can count on them making sure that anyone other than them will have issues. iTunes is a pain in the ass and I don't use it for just that reason. It sounds like you have done things right but there may be other issues that I am not aware of. Send Tony or Ralph a PM as well and they will try and get you at least a rudimentary answer.

OK the M2 version I had was from Sept 2009.
I paid my $5 to reactivate my download link and I downloaded the latest update from Feb 15th 2010.
NASLite-M2 v1.62 32/64Bit.
I note changes include:
- Update Administration Utility management code to correct media re-indexing (M2 only)

So I'll install this version which, it appears, addresses the issue - I hope!

No - the newer version is still not indexing new mp3s added.
What I did discover however last night is that it is indexing almost immediately m4A files - the native iTunes download format.
I added a few last hight... Frustrating

Guys

Have you read the following thread http://www.serverelements.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=3360

Maybe this is your problem.

Just a thought

My MP3's are now seen in iTunes. I set my UPNP to DLNA vs Generic.

OK it's sorted.
I think it had something to do with the tracks being ripped from CD without the 'metadata' .
The album came in as 'unkown artist/album" etc and the tracks as Track 1,2 etc.
I ripped it again in iTunes and then had iTunes recover the track info from the internet. At this point these tracks are not stored on the NAS.

I then copied these files in a folder into my MP3 folder in Media on the NASALIte-M2 hard disk,
waited a few minutes to allow indexing and now I have them on the server.

Thanks to all for suggestions.
