Hi at all,

I've build a new Server with NASLite M2. I' testing it with one IDE HD. I've aktivated the UPNP Service. I don't see the disk in the client, I don't see NASLite.
Is there more to do, to work with UPNP?
I've aktivated it (testet with genenric, PS3, XBOX, DLNA), I've some files in the media folder.

For testing I aktivated the UPNP-Server in my Dreambox and my client works well with it, so I don't believe that the client is the problem.

Any suggestion?

No One an Idea?

Are there problems with some network-cards (driver) or is there more to configure in naslite.

Because I don't have a second UPnP harware client I've downloaded the Cidero UPnP A/V Controller for java, to verify the problem.

It shows me only my dreambox, not my naslite.

Can anyone verify, naslite and cidero are working together?

Thank you for your help.

I've now tested another network card. I've checked the BIOS, if there is anything wrong.
Nothing, I can't see the NAS nor the drives or folders with Cidero UPnP Controller.

Can anyone check with the Cidero Software the own NASLite? It is an .exe for windows, but it only is unpacked in a folder. The link is in the post before.

I want to check with this Software, because I don't like to buy any new client hardware if I don't know the server is working without problems.

The Cidero Software and my Bluray-Player both can see my Dreambox as UPnP-Server with folders and files. But the NAS is not seen.

Thanks for help

Make sure your swap is turned on and pointed to valid storage disk.
If the swap is not on, UPnP will not run.

DAAP/UPNP OPTIONS MENU

1 - Swap Area Target [ Disk-1 ]

2 - DAAP Background Media Indexing [ ON ]
3 - DAAP Media Indexing Type [ FAST ]
4 - DAAP Reindex Content

5 - UPNP Compliance Profile [ GENERIC ]
6 - UPNP Reindex Content

R - Return To Service Configuration Menu

Hi Ralph,

that was the matter. Thank you for your help.
It was set to disk0, systemdisk - not writeable.

In the manual it is described, but I didn't saw this part  .

Thank you for your Help.

Hi Ralph,

Why does the disk that is chosen for the swap area have an influence on the time taken to boot NASLite? I posted this question some time ago as a separate thread but received no replies. See: viewtopic.php?f=22&t=3339

Thanks,

Raymond

Because it's indexing any content you have in the media folder.

But it takes five and a half minutes on one drive (SATA RAID array) and 30 seconds on the other (IDE drive). I can understand the need to index, but not the 11-fold time discrepancy. Anyway, if I shut down and restart, the restart times are reproducible. Having the sawp area on the RAID array ALWAYS results in slow boots.
