Hi,

I own an USB drive WD My Book Premium II. Internally, it has 2 drive with 500GB each.
I'd like to use these external drives for the rsync of my 2 internal naslite drives.

I got the USB drive with only one internal HDD, bought a second one and put it in already.
However, the naslite server seems not to recognize that second HDD. Only the first one is shown in the admin menu.

In the manual of the WD My Book it is mentioned that the USB drive can be operated in RAID 0 or RAID 1 configuration. Is it possible that it will never show 2 drives to the outside world and therefore naslite will never see the two internal HDDs of the "My Book"?

Thanks for any comments.

what size does naslite report the drive - if 500gig then its not seeing it as raid or anything else - does any other OS see both drives - if not then there would seem to be a configuration issue on the usb drive

it sees 500GB.
I found a manual to that drive: The LED on the drive seems to mean that the second HDD is currently about to be configured.
So, I'll wait for the LED to stop blinking and check the situation then after a reboot.... hope it will work then :?

the configuration seems to have finished now.
Nevertheless, after a reboot there're still 500GB and just one single disk... :(

is that the same on any other OS - windows for example - Naslite and raid is a world of its own if you read on here - i would start with windows - when you can see 2 drives or one 1tb drive then move to naslite

that at least would confirm the configuration and/or both drives are ok

Finally, I got the answer from the WD Support: For this product it is not possible to disable RAID.
:( :x
So, I will have to buy an external USB case for the second HDD.
