LOL!

I can help. Buy a gigabit NIC for each machine and a good gigabit switch. That should help allot.

Well i thought with a 100mps card you should get 100MB/s am I wrong about that?

It's 100Mbit/s or 12.5MByte/s - and that's absolute maximum including overheads - your results look good for 100Mbit/s!

I think that you need a little schooling about bits and bytes.

A 100Mb/sec link is 100 million bits of data per second. The lower case "b" in terms of data means bits where as an upper case "B" means Bytes. 8 bits is equal to 1 Byte. So the theoretical maximum transfer of a 100Mb/sec Ethernet link is 100000000/8 = 12500000 or in common terms, 12.5M bytes per second. Now Ethernet has overhead, framing and the like so in reality you are likely to get around 10-10.5MB/sec at most over a 100Mb/sec link like you are running.

Bottom line is that if you want to go faster, it's time for an upgrade. Also best if you do a bit of asking before buying parts as there is allot of good and bad networking hardware out there. Have a look at this link I posted a while back as well for the wire and infrastructure side of things. http://serverelements.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=2471

Hope this helps to clear up your "poor" performance issues.

Mike
