[quote="Ralph"]Ok, good news.

I finally sorted this all out, basically this card requires a partition type of GPT id:ee , instead of Linux id:83. Also, make sure 2TB carving is OFF in the card bios.

I created a 2.5TB partition and formatted it successfully, below are parts of the syslog and a screenshot. I spoke to Tony about a fix and we should have something in a few days. I'll send it out to PieterB and Dougal1957 when it's ready for testing.

Ralph

This is excellent news now waiting with baited breath for the test iso

Any word yet? I've got a 9500s-12 arriving in a few days. I would gladly beta test.

looking forward to the results, I have a 16 drive hot swap server case and am waiting to set it up and configure it. I still need to buy a card and this will determine my choice.

Please add me to the list. I bought M2 because the hardware list said that the 9xxx cards were supported. I was a little unhappy to find out they werent. I've got everything ready to go including a 8 port 9500.

NASLite supports the 3ware 9000 series, there is a issue with formatting volumes greater than 2TB that is being addressed.

This issue has been fixed, it will be rolled out in v1.62 hopefully by the end of the week after some testing.

Thanks.

Excellent news, my 9500S-12 has cleared customs and I will be receiving another 1TB drive today. Do you have an ETA on M2x64 1.62?

Ralph

Initial testing with the beta shows no probs now with 4Tib arrays am now testing to 8TiB but this will take a few hours yet :D :D

Doug

p.s. Not sure how I can test the UPNP Rediuld tho as when i put music into the folder Windows Media Player sees it within a few minutes without me having to refresh anything.

Ralph

The beta works with 4 Tib array however not with 8 Tib and I suspect that this is a 32/64 bit issue

Any chance you can send me a 64 bit version of the beta to test.

There is no 64bit version until the 32bit version fixes are verified.

32bit version uses 64bit offsets for large file support and is the same as the 64bit version in partition and file size capabilities.

Please post more information on what size it formatted the volume to, along with your syslog.

ERROR!

Formatting of Disk-1 Failed

System message priority, in ascending order, is as follows: [1] - DEBUG, [2] - INFO, [3] - NOTICE, [4] - WARNING, [5] - ERROR, [6] -

CRITICAL, [7] - ALERT, [8] - EMERGENCY. The priority defines the severity of the message where CRITICAL, ALERT and EMERGENCY may warrant

immediate attention.
