Hi,

the system gets worse and worse ...what can I do?

after applying a lot of changes (see "bad performance" threat) I am now in the situation that my system hangs after a few minutes.

It says something like:

divide error: 0000
...
process smartctl ...

...and a lot of stuff in between and after.

Any ideas?

Needs new RAM ... or worse ... new motherboard (could be just the CPU, but that might not be cost-effective to swap out; in that case I'd go for a complete new mobo/CPU combo).

well, tonight I'll try to switch back to my old Pii 350MHz and give it another try.

Do you know, if I'll have to generate a new unlock code for that? How is it done? The same way as for the first installation? Or will Ralph or Tony have to free up the first code?

Some motherboards just refuse to work well.

Yes you will need a new unlock but it is free and hassle free. Tony and Ralph are not needed to do this.
