Hello,

I've bought Naslite m2 today and it's all working. But I've got some Questions:

1: How can I protect the Folder with a Password? I don't want to have free access on all my folders (Cause I've forwarded the Ports to have external access).
2: Is it Possible to get ssh access?
3: Is it possible to run the Server with a Wlan card? (If i got ssh access this would be no problem 2 install the drivers)
4: I'm going to buy a xbox next week, is it easy to get access from the xbox to naslite?
5: Is it possible to run naslite with an external Harddrive to?

Best Regards, carTer

You don't with NL, sorry.

2: Is it Possible to get ssh access?
Again, no.

3: Is it possible to run the Server with a Wlan card? (If i got ssh access this would be no problem 2 install the drivers)
No, the drivers are not there nor is the ability to configure said card.

4: I'm going to buy a xbox next week, is it easy to get access from the xbox to naslite?
If you are using M2. There are issues but there are many that do have it working if you are not fancy and use standard codecs.

5: Is it possible to run naslite with an external Harddrive to?
NL will access USB and SATA drives if they are on proper cards that are supported.

Best Regards, carTer

okay, bad message about the password sys...

Now I've thought over an alternative and I've found one.. But it's only working if the nas lite only accept the access of 4 example

inter-hd8127812891.ath.cx and not the direct ip like: 80.160.12.13 .. is that possible to make this directly at the naslite? I don't want to put another server before the naslite....

or if that's not possible is it possible to edit the webserver + ftp server port from naslite?

or if I could install php, that would be no problem too...

There is no facilities built into NL to allow you to securely export the drives over the internet. You need a server to serve that function. NL is simply a drive to network OS with no security or access controls. It does one thing exceedingly well and that is it. Your quest in in a far away land from here.

My advice is setup a VPN server if you wish to access your NL from outside your personal network.

If you have a wireless router that can use DD-WRT, you can utilize the VPN server in that.

I would think that those questions would be better asked and answered at the support site for your speedport.

Some routers can be flashed with a linux based routing software package that will allow you to setup the kind of access you are looking for. Since I have never done this, I have a friend that has, I can't give the name of the package or the routers that it works on. At least this may be an option since you do not want to run a server or by hardware if you can help it.
