I am thinking of upgrading my NASLite 1.1 running off a boot floppy to NASLite-M2. Really, the single feature I want for now is ext3 filesystem on my NAS. I'm in interested in the M2 version just to provide more options in the future.

The question is, if I boot of the NASLite-M2 CD will it automatically recognize the disks as already having been configured by the previous NASLite boot floppy? Then I can just use the "apply journal" option in the Disk-N Configuration Manua and it'll add an ext3 journal to the existing ext2 filesystems, right ?

Would save a ton of time backing up and restoring the NAS box, plus I don't even have that much extra disk space elsewhere on the network. So I'd like to know before I purchase.

Thanks in advance for your help

You petty much got it down. Boot the m2 cd, configure to a floppy and apply the journal. One advice i'd give here is to run the check and repair with bad block testing enabled on all drives since the old floppies didn't have the option.
