NASLite Network Attached Storage

Hi,

I just installed NASLite-M2 as upgrade to NASLite-2 v2.10, all installed fine & up and going again with no issues.

However today I tried to use iTunes to see the DAAP MP3 files I have on one of the drives & I keep getting "The shared library "NAS-01 DAAP" is not responding. (-3260). Check firewall for port 3689. I have opened port 3689 & still have no luck with connection.

Anybody have any ideas, I have searched the forum & found nothing to fix my issue.

If you have a large mp3 collection, it will take the DAAPD daemon some time to index all the files, while it's indexing DAAP will be unavailable.

We identified some conditions with odd mp3s that would cause DAAPD to die, this has been fixed for the next release.

I have made some changes & rebooted...

I have about 8000 MP3's, indexing will take a while.

I found in the System Status page that DAAP & UPNP had no memory usage.

I checked the DAAP/UPNP OPTIONS page & the Swap Area Target was set to Disk-0, which I had set to RO, I changed the Swap Area Target to Disk-4, same HDD as the MP3 files & rebooted.

System Status page now shows memory usage for both & I found daap.log which has the following
2009-02-28 07:18:09: Starting signal handler
2009-02-28 07:18:09: Loading playlists
2009-02-28 07:18:09: Initializing database
2009-02-28 07:18:09: Starting mp3 scan

I waited for a while & the log had a heap of the following,
2009-02-28 07:21:25: Short read: /media/Disk-4/Music/James Brown/I'm Real/James Brown - I'm Real.mp3
What is the meaning of the Short read?

I now have at least two PC's with iTunes seeing & using MP3's via DAAP.
