I am about to strip a PC and put in lots of hard drives (space up to 8 hard drives) for using it with NASLite. I want to have a silent system as possible. Suggestion of motherboard, CPU, switch and drives that will work great with NASLite. I am trying to find a system that makes minimum noise, low power consumption, reliable and have good transfers speed. Could this be build?

I will have it as a backup system and media server, listening to music and movies.
I'm use mostly Mac but do have PC as well running both wireless and with cable.

Any suggestions what to use would be great.

Thanks
Soren

I posted about a nice little Mini ITX board here:

http://www.serverelements.com/forums/viewtopic.php?p=13773#p13773

It should work real good with the new NASlite-M2.

It's about $80 and you can get 2MB of ram for it for about $20. It all ready has a 1.6 MHz CPU and gigabit LAN on board.

Just need a power supply and case with hard drives. I made my own case out of sheet mettle. A 90 watt very small power supply that cost about $50 for it. You can get WD green type hard drives that a 1TB now for about $100. All that will save a lot of power and $
