I have purchased 2 WD green drives, 3TB each, and am trying to use these in a new nanonas install. The drives are formatting to only 734.8GB.

Hardware:
Dell Dimension 2350 motherboard @ BIOS A02
WD Green (WD30EZRX)

There are no SATA ports so I'm using a Vantech SATA to IDE converter in the primary IDE slot for the two SATA connectors

Is nanonas the right software for this or would another naslite product be better? I intend to serve music and movies with the rig in addition to holding a plethora of pictures

I´ve seen some topics somewere around the Forum dealing with your HDD problem.

If you want to share Media content i think the M2 should be better (It can handle UPnP/DLNA which makes it easier to use things like a Smart TV)

Late response, but an important point to note: NanoNAS is a NAS implementation that targets legacy hardware. It will not be able to check and repair a 3 TB filesystem anyway.

Per Aderalia, NASLite-2 or M2 are much better solutions, especially if you are looking at large storage volumes.

Hope that helps.

Tony.
