Hi!

I booted into NASLite-SMB and noticed a floppy "disk error" message on the screen. I downloaded the program and made a new boot disk. Now when I try to boot, I cannot get to the login prompt. The system hangs after "Disk-1 - Found partition" entry. (It used to continue on with Disk-2, etc.) Why is that and how do I correct the problem?

Warmest Regards,

tyrone3a

Hi tyrone3a,

NASLite will pause while it scans (defrags) your disk. This has been discussed many times before on this board. Please take a look at the associated manual for details.

Hi! Tony,

Thanks for the reply. I left the unit on overnight and in the morning it had completed booting. After the "Disk-1 - Found partition" entry were the following entries:

Attempting to fix filesystem
Attempting to mount filesystem
...

Was there an "error" in the filesystem? Or is this the message displayed when the disk is being defraged? If a disk error was fixed, is there a record made? If so, how can I view the record? Since this disk is being used for file storage, the integrity (ie, accuracy) of the stored data is essential.

Warmest Regards,

tyrone3a
