Yes, Ok, it says it's faster with NASLITE+ but is this because it supports Gigabit cards (which I've not got) or the removal of a designed-in limit? I'm only getting 1.7Mbps with NASLite on a 100Mbit network.

What will NasLite+ do for network speed?

And can I boot NASLITE+ from a floppy still (confused about the CD-Rom thing) 'cos I don't want to lose a hard drive just to boot!

PS: Great Forum - already found out why I can't write files over 4Gbytes with NasLite - didn't see that in the manual!. Perhaps my Arconis True Image backups will work now!

A move to NASLite+ should increase your network speed to somewhere in the 7-10MByte/sec rate. The low speed with the free NASLite is due to it not using DMA on your motherboard to save program space so it fits on a floppy. The speed you get will depend on how fast your motherboard is and if if supports higher speed transfers from the disks.

NASLite+ will require either a CD or a USB key to boot, depending on which version you buy. If you want all 4 IDE slots for hard drives, get the USB version. The + versions don't boot from floppy but the CD version still requires a floppy to save your parameters on. The USB version saves the parameters on the USB key.
