I am trying to get my NASLite FTP version going and was wondering if there is a root account and what the password is for it (it is not the same as admin). I would like to access the log files and my dev drivers.

The NASLite floppies are designed as task-specific operating systems, and as such include only the most essential binaries. It isn’t a fully POSIX compliant Unix implementation. The OS is virtually unusable outside of it’s core competency since most common utilities such as ls, ps, hdparm, etc. are excluded.

The root account is locked and set to default to the admin menu shell. As such it's rendered useless. It’s essentially a system account and a user can’t become root.

Hope that makes since.
