A shareware program called GRDUW can write 1.72M floppies under windows.
It just created a working NASLite Samba floppy for me under 98SE.
GRDUW may be Win9x/me only, I am not very familiar with it...

I am playing with, er testing, NASLite samba now.
As an experienced samba user/admin my intent is to later report any
useful discoveries, constructive criticisms or praise :)
The initial setup was shockingly simple!

GRDUW will not work under Win 2000/XP since they take totally control of the hardware, and won't allow any direct access of the floppy drive.

We will be releasing a bootable ISO image in the future that will have all the "lite" images and allow creation of the floppys.

Hello,

I found the program Grduw at the following adress (the authorĀ“s adress is no more active because of high traffic - and nearly no sales - caused by the program):

http://coolfiles.toget.com.tw/disk_tool/grduw410.zip

Hope that this is useful for anybody.

KNOPPIX 3.4 is a fully functional linux operating system on a cd that you can boot up with and it runs from your cd drive loading into ram when necessary. Don't really even need a hard drive installed on a computer to use it. Nothing gets installed onto your computer when using this it just runs off the cd drive and ram. Have used it several times to make the NASLite floppy without a hitch. Just have to download the iso image of it (699mb) and burn it as a image file. From there just configure your pc to boot up from the cd drive and hit enter when you see a splash screen and away ya go. As long as one doesn't go and start to delete files(unless you want to that is) tis a great way to have fun with linux kde. Here is a link to a web page for the downloads http://source.rfc822.org/pub/mirror/knoppix/

Another helpful link http://www.knoppix.net/

If you go this route you should be able to find out how to use it to make the floppy quite easily.
