Hi,

I had this naslite-smb server running on my network at the office, all using win2000. I have brought it home and now my home network doesn't see it (winxp). On my routers client list it doesn't show up. i have run a third party ip/mac network finder and it only shows my computer and the router's ip/mac. It doesn't see the server.
Any ideas?

Several things could cause this. The most likely is you didn't change the configuration and the NASLite box is set up with an IP address on a different net. (the network at the office) You will have to connect a monitor/keyboard to the box and see what it's set to. Then change it to something on your home network.

Another possibility is the ethernet isn't connected properly. Does the router or hub show an active ethernet link on the port the NASLite box is plugged into? Usually there will be lights to indicate a port is active. Same thing on the PC end where you connect to the ethernet card. Do the lights on the card indicate ethernet is active?
