 Post subject: boot up process

I need help..
here is the story...

I turn OFF my naslite file server for 1 hour but when I turn it back on it recognized the same disk-1 partion then stayed on that screen....

Please help.... Any Idea...

Not quite sure what you mean here, But if its checking the DISK it will take a while, some users think because it stays on the same screen that naslite has crashed or locked up.

leave it a while and come back to it, chances are it will be sitting on the admin page.

On my Celeron 2.93GHz, 533FSB, 512MB RAM, and a very new 300 GB Maxtor (16MB cache), when the file server crashes the "fscheck" takes almost a full hour ... you just have to be patient.

Suggestion for improvement: Rather than the boot screen reporting

Checking for Disk-2
Found Disk-2 partition

and then sitting there for a long time ... after which it reports

Attempting to fix the file system (or similar)

How about reporting the above line BEFORE starting the "fscheck" ?

Thank you for sharing your expertise....it did work...I waited for almost an hour and when I check it.....it did work...OK!!!!!!


Do you know any way how to backup my file server so that just in case it crash I have nothing to worry!!!>..
