NASLite Network Attached Storage

I want to use naslite for the backup of my dvd images. But i can't copy /save files on the naslite server which are bigger than 4gb

Running with standard linux and samba is thisno problem. it looks to me
that a new samba rpm must be added . if this can;t be done i have to go back to my old samba server.

It's been posted earlier (search the prior posts) that NASLite-SMB uses the 2.0.10 version of SAMBA due to size limitations on the floppy. Version 2.0.10 won't allow more than a 4 Gig file size.

A possible work around might be to install microsoft unix services , which are now freely avaiilable and then use the NASlite nfs server.

I will be trying this setup today to see if it will also work with MAC OS-X.

Just a quick followup to my previuos post.
We have tested an NFS-lite server on a local lan with Linux, Mac OS-X , and Windows XP. All can connect to the NASlite-NFS. Actually the Mac gave us more trouble than the windows box. It wasn't to clear on how to connect with NFS. Windows, installed the unix services and the NASlite box appeared in the network neighbourhood. We mapped it's drive and reconnects every bootup.
Transfer rates are better than the SMB but seem a little bit less than FTP.
