:( Oh boy, I have by now wasted about 20 CDs trying to burn the ISO images I received. I bought the full server suite, as I may be using NAS Lite in a number of configurations.
Unfortunately I cannot successfully burn even one of the three ISO images that are included.

I have tried this using Alcohol 120% (using RAW/DAO) and Nero Burning ROM which are probably the most common Windows based CD burners around. I have used the same software and machines to burn RedHat, Mandrake and Corel Linux distros and all of them worked fine and never with any problems.

Whatever I try with the NAS Lite images, they either produce blank CDs that contain nothing (NASLPLUS.ISO and NASLPLUB.ISO) and thus don't boot or the FDU image seems bootable, but crashes with a CRC error right after flashing the NAS bootup screen.
I have tried booting these CDs on different PCs from a AMD XP64 down to a P3. I have burned them with the same problems on different PCs, using different programs. All of these were booting Linux CDs without a problem, however I have no current Linux box built to try burning it under Linux (and that would be too much hustle now anyway.

I cannot believe that there is no other posting on this on the forum and that I am the one and only one having this problem. What's the fix here?

Cheers,

Marcus

Try using knoppix linux (it runs from a cd rom) on a windows machine. Create the boot img there. I don't think you can create them within windows. I know for a fact you cannot create the floppy boot disk within windows. Search for this on the forum.

Ok, I have done this. Loaded Knoppix on a laptop with two CD drives, which made it easy to burn the ISO images. After loading K3B, it reports that the NASLPLUS.ISO and NASLPLUB.ISO images are not valid ISO images. The only one that appears to be ok is the FDU image.
I burn it successfully, even validate the MD5 Checksum but ... it doesn't boot at all.

Something is REALLY wrong here.

Oh and yes, I did download the suite ISO twice to make sure this wasn't a transfer error.

Why am I having such a hard time creating these CDs if everyone else doesn't seem to have this problem????

First it could be the media you are using? have you tried another brand?

Second,

If you are burning on various different machines and they all are using the same iso then maybe the iso at source is screwed up. I'd ask Tony to confirm that the images on the server are valid and not broke.

When I burnt my image i selected Disk at once and not track at once.

good luck
