You ought to make an option to allow the hard drive to go into standby mode. :) (To save HD life of course!)

It’s a misunderstanding that spinning down the hard disk will increase it’s useful life. In fact, it will do just the opposite. Increasing the spin-up/down cycles can be very damaging to a hard disk. Spinning down the hard disk is intended primarily to conserve power.

Any ideas? And no, the bios doesn't have power saving features. ;\
