This will work from Red Hat 8.0 correct?
I go to start - Run Programs....

To make a bootable NASLite v1.x floppy disk in Linux use the following:

gunzip NASLite-SMB.img.gz
fdformat /dev/fd0u1722
dd if=NASLite-SMB.img of=/dev/fd0u1722

The first line works for me as I see the file get created and can find...
Naslite-SMB.img.
I am not sure if the next two lines are working correctly though....
When I do line 2 the floppy light comes on for about 3 seconds - seems quick for a format!
3rd line doesn't seem to do much either as light comes on for maybe 2 seconds.....

Does anyone know why - dd if=NASLite.img of=/dev/fd0u1722 command might not be working correctly?

Any help would be great.

If the unzipped imaged is called "Naslite-SMB.img", you should change the "NASLite.img" in
"dd if=NASLite.img of=/dev/fd0u1722"
into
"dd if=Naslite-SMB.img of=/dev/fd0u1722"

Yeah I should have stated that I did that -
Made the corrections to the statement...

Like I said when I do that last statement my Floppy light comes on for about 2 seconds and then off and nothing......

I don't know much about this linux stuff but trying to learn it the best I can.

Is there a way I can find out that statement 2 or 3 is working correctly.

Chad
