 Post subject: Ability to Name Drives

I have asked this in the past if being able to name the share names or drive names would ever happen. At that time it was being given thought. After reading the new manual on Aug 14/04 it seem that this will not happen. So the question is it because it can't be done given the size of the distrubition or not enough call for it. As for my application the ability to name the share is needed thanks to microsoft and there inflexable way of doing things.

This is a great project and can see many uses for. Keep up the great work I am sure many appricate it

Well, it can be done since it's a configuration issue, however, the configuration process will have to change significantly in order to implement custom mount names. The methodology has to be compatible with SMB, NFS and FTP in order to preserve compatibility across versions.

This and other improvements are being considered for future releases of NASLite.
