Its already been said that in the fiture NasLite will support IDE adaptors.

Thats great.

It would be nice to hear any recommendations anyone has on cheap IDE>PCI adaptors that are "likely" to be compatible.

I have been looking but they are surprisingly expensive.

Any thoughts ? ;)

a polite bump.

This card looks intresting:

Highpoint Rocket 133 2Ch ATA133 Disk Accelerator

@ approx £20 UK pounds

Allows the connection of 4 extra hard IDE drives via 2 channels.

well if anything this thread will be useful later on.

This card from eBuyer

Ebuyer PCI ATA133 RAID Controller Card W/Cable - Retail Box

uses a Silicon Image 0680 chip and is reported to well with various linux flavours.

It is also nice as it can work in non RAID mode as just an IDE card.

Lastly it is only £13 UK which is very cheap for 4 drives.
