I've been using NASLite for a bit now, and recently bought a new hard drive to go in it, but I'm encountering a bit of a snag. If anyone can suggest a way forward I'd be very grateful.

The Drive:

SAMSUNG HD154UI, ATA DISK drive
attached ide-disk driver.
host protected area => 1
-1364690128 sectors (1500302 MB) w/32767KiB Cache, CHS=182401/255/63, UDMA(33)

The error message:

umount: /export/Disk-3: No such file or directory
Checking that no-one is using this disk right now ...
OK

Disk /dev/ide/host0/bus1/target0/lun0/disc: 182401 cylinders, 255 heads, 63 sect
ors/track
Old situation:
Warning: The partition table looks like it was made
for C/H/S=*/16/63 (instead of 182401/255/63).
For this listing I'll assume that geometry.
Units = cylinders of 516096 bytes, blocks of 1024 bytes, counting from 0

Device Boot Start End #cyls #blocks Id System

sfdisk: bad input

Failed to configure Disk-3. Disk-3 can be configured only
if it is installed and is a fixed disk. CD-ROM, DVD-ROM, ZIP and other
ATAPI drives that are not fixed disks can not be configured for use
with NASLite.

The system is:

Processor (CPU)
vendor_id : GenuineIntel
model name : Pentium MMX
cpu MHz : 199.615
bogomips : 398.13

Memory

assuming this is in the correct section and you are using the 'free' naslite i think your problem probarbly is that the software will not support the drive you have added - which, by the reference posted is a 1.5Tb SATA drive

plus from memory the free version has a restriction on the number of drives it supports - you need to do a bit of reading of the manual

upgrading to naslite 2 or M2 would certainly support the new drive

Thanks, I was afraid that might be the case.

NASLite-2 it is then.
