Has anyone used netbootdisk (www.netbootdisk.com) to access a share on a NASLite box? I can't find a username/password combo that works. I looked at the sharing permissions on the server, and it shows a root user, but I don't see any other info. Netbootdisk requires a username and password to be provided. I've tried blank as well as the admin user for NASLite, and a few other random things, but nothing has worked.

Thoughts?

NASLite uses no user names or passwords for access. The issue lies with the Netbootdisk configuration. I don't have time to look at the disk now but will later.

The crap I go through for a stranger!

I had to drag out my old Floppy drive and throw it on the box just to build the disk. I now have to drag out a machine to give it a go on. I will get back to you later on this.

Why not just use Knoppix or the live boot of Ubuntu? Both work just fine with NASLite.

Wow. How's that for service!

I could send you an iso if that makes it easier. Although when testing it's easier to boot from a floppy so you can edit the files... As far as why I'm not using ubuntu, I'm using it to boot and run Ghost from a server. I have the Ghost stuff on a Windows server right now, but I wanted to move it to naslite.

Hey, maybe we can hang out sometime, then I wouldn't be a stranger.

LOL. Maybe. What is your local.

As far as getting it to boot? I couldn't get it to work properly on my laptop and I haven't had the time to look at it since i am installing a new furnace in the house. Word to the wise, it is a hell of a job to take on.

I will mess with it a bit more this evening and see what I can find. I don't have ghost or use it. I don't think I have the other services that it is looking for either. We will see.
