What I mean is; say I install NASLite FTP and put some data on the server's hard drive then boot the same machine with a NASLite SMB disk - assuming both are configured properly for network settings and all, will I be able to access the data from both?

I realize that this is what NASLite+ is for and I'm going to pick up a copy as soon as I can but just wondered about this. What brings it to my mind is that I prefer to run NASLite as FTP but Acronis True Image will not back up to FTP but will back up to SMB - so I was going to boot the box with the SMB floppy when I wanted to upload a disk image and with the FTP floppy the rest of the time.

You can access the files on the NASLite storage drives via NFS, FTP or SMB, depending on the floppy you boot. The same files are accessible if you share via the + or + for USB.

In other words, any NASLite you use to share the drive will make the contents avaiable as necessary.

Great! That'll get me by until I can get a copy of NASLite+ ordered then - can't beat the price and who wants to be rebooting and swapping floppies.

NASLite* is great stuff - thanks!
