I have installed the software and am very happy with it so far. I just have some general questions to ask...

1. How can you tell transfer speeds? I have one NAS on a Win2K network and another on a WinXP network...I have no idea how to see transfer speeds when moving data.

2. After a power restart I noticed that it took a very long time (more than 20 minutes) for the NAS to finish restarting. I have read in the other messages that the software needs to do a file check on the disks after an improper shutdown. How long should this take?

Thanks to any and all responses.

AMD K6-2 550 MHz, 784 MB RAM, 4 x 250 GB (Maxtor DiamondMax), COM 905 NIC.

Transfer speeds can be estimated on the client machine. For example you can use the XP Task Manager.

The time required for proper recovery may vary based on drive size, number of files, general file size, etc. It is important to note that it is not a good idea to just powered down the server. Use the admin menu for proper shutdown.
