I'm running NAS Lite on a no-name floppy at the moment.. I lucked out a while back and it formatted in Linux & imaged just fine.

However, its the only disk out of about 40 that has worked. I want to have a backup boot disk but none are verifying during the format (and if I skip the verify, the linux 'dd' just keeps going... and going.. and going.

I bought a pack of other no name disks tonight, but 20 disks later, none will format to the 1.7mb required..

Has anyone found a consistently 'good' type of disk? (or better yet, other solution - my NAS box won't boot from a cd so NasLite+ is out of the question (BTW, I've been trying the format on several different machines - so its not likely a hardware issue).

Thanks!

I bought a box of Samsum MF-2HD IBM formatted

the box also says :
10
Double Sided High Density
Lifetime Warranty
100% Error Free Certified & Tested

All floppys worked fine for me. Most new floppys should work, try another floppydrive.
