Hi
I have an old 486DX4 with a NIC on the motherboard.
I have booted NASLite -SMB and configured the network IP address to 192.168.0.101, and set up the Server name and Workgroup name. I then saved the settings.
I cannot see the NAS Server on my network, nor can I ping it.
If I examine the boot messages on the screen of the 486 I see:-
Server - Launching Services
Ifconfig : eth0 : error fetching interface information : Device not found
Server - Network error
Ifconfig : eth0 : error fetching interface information : Device not found
To check the hardware I have booted Linux from Toms boot floppy
http://www.toms.net/rb/ and set the IP address
ifconfig eth0 192.168.0.101.
I can ping my XT box from the 486 and ping the 486 from my XT.
Using a different IP address makes no difference. It would seem that all is not well with NasLite!!
Is there any way to run ifconfig in NASLite?
