The promise ultra TX2 is a PCI card bus device and is not supported at this time.

We have not tested NASLite using a Promise Ultra TX2 controller, but in theory it should work. Although it will not improve performance on NASLIte unless you use the SMBG or FTPG version in which case a gigabit nic is required.

Make sure that if the board you are using has onboard IDE, it is disabled. NASLite will address only interfaces 0 and 1 - no higher. If you have onboard IDE, in addition, then the TX2 will be 2 and 3, so NASLite will not use it.

It's also important to note that the SMBG or FTPG versions of NASLite have improved IDE support. If the TX2 is in fact 0 and 1 then try setting the drives using a G version and if that works, install a supported Gbit nic.

You definately have options.

So using a IDE controller card will not improve performance unless i use the gigabit version of NASLite? Is that correct?
