It occurs to me that software to synchronize the NASLite clock need not actually reside on the NASLite server. Seems like someone could come up with a daemon or NT-style service that would periodically telnet into NASLite and synchronize the clock with the clock internal to the computer it's running on. As long as the PC with the deamon running on it was reasonably well synchronized (and anyone who cared to run this would already be keeping IT synchronized!) the NASLite box could be kept pretty much in tune as well. At least, it would be able to be within maybe a minute of the correct time, and the admin wouldn't have to worry about DST time changes and stuff.

I wish I was a REAL programmer... :)

Here's a link to a PHP script which does what you ask:

Hello sudleyplace,

thanks for the link - time synching would be a great thing.

Trouble is, I am too much a novice in those matters to make use of this fine script. Could you please explain how to go about using it?

Regards and Thanks in advance,
Thorsten

Install PHP on your system (http://www.php.net), download the include file mentioned in the script saving it in the PHP includes directory, and then run the script by calling it as an argument to the php executable.

This is an overview of the process of getting this script to work, but without knowing more about your system, I can't go into more detail.
