Hello,

I'm a user of VMWare desktop for testing products prior to using them in production. I'm trying the NASLite product as a floppy image
(with a virtual 2.88 floppy drive, tried 1.44 as well)

And I get this error message:
VFS: insert root floppy and press enter

When I press enter I get a kernel panic, am I doing something wrong?

Kind regards,

Mike

Hi Mike,

NASLite uses a 1722K formatted floppy disk without a filesystem on it. That is the only way we can get the OS to fit on a bootable floppy. The drawback is that it will not work as a virtual device.
