I took a quick look at the docs and it seems like only ext2 is supported. Is this correct? I have an old system that uses win9x as a NAS file server. This seems like a better solution, but I would like to use the existing file system and data. Can this be done?

If you have access to Partition Magic, I have used their "convert" facility between filesystems before now.

Never tried it to ext2 though.

You might like to create a new partition, put some files on to it and then convert to ext2 and see if they are okay.,
