Hello all. My question is fairly simple (I hope). Is there any way to synchronize files quickly and efficiently from, say, "D:\PICTURES" (local hard drive, containing sub-dirs) to "Y:\PICTURES" (NASLite server)? I tried using the DOS version of XXCOPY to accomplish this, but it tried to delete all the files on the NASLite drive! I found out that the file names are a little different, so when synchronizing, it tries to delete everything and start over. Since I have 10gb of pictures to synchronize, I really didn't want that to happen. Is there another program perhaps, or a special batch command that I could use to sync my files? BTW, I also move some files around between sub-dirs, and I would like it to delete the extras rather than just copying everything that isn't there.

Thanks for any and all comments!

Rod

Here's a pretty effective free program for Windows that does this:

I use another freebie (syncback) that has a scheduler as well. You just have to add the program to the start menu (windows) to always be in the system tray running.

also available via :

hope this helps
