All of the above will work fine. One thing to keep in mind is that the larger the drives, the more RAM will be necessary to manage the file systems.

128M should suffice for a 4x400G

Hy,

I can only say a P-500 with 256MB of Ram (One TB of Space together ;-) ) works fine.

Hi,

I am looking to make a server with 3tb, 12 S/ATA disks in all

can you tell me what the prerequitites for this would be, and wether NASlite would be able to handle it.

Also.. (maybe the wrong discussion) - is the floppy disk booting thing mandatory, and is there a way to install it to a(n other) hard disk ?

Thanks

Dean

Sorry, Dean, but NASLite can't do what you want.
At present, it only accepts 4 IDE disks, so the SATA drives won't work.

You can't put it on a hard drive, either, just the floppy.

I have inside info that NASLite+, that will boot from a CD, will be out soon IF it passes the usability testing that it will get.

Tim
