Hi all
Been using Naslite-smb for about a week now,
However suffered a power trip last night and now get the following errors on boot
Disk 1 found partition
_ _alloc_pages:order allocation failed (gfp=0x1d2/0)
VM killing process e2fsck
Killed
Disk 1 attempting to fix the file system
_ _alloc_pages:order allocation failed (gfp=0x1d2/0)
VM killing process e2fsck
Killed
filesystem is not mountable
-------------
system is an old p200 32MB ram 2x160MB ide drives

obviously some corruption has occured , seen some posts here about 32MB being not enough , even though I have had it running in this could this be causing problems with the attempted repairs.

basically where do I go from here considering I am new to linux

That’s exactly what the problem is. There isn’t enough RAM for the system to complete the disk check. To correct things, install more RAM and reboot. NASLite will take a bit of time to scan through the drives (possibly 20min each), but when it comes online, you should be back in business.

IF you can't find another stick of RAM to put in the old machine, you can always swap the harddrive into a better machine to do the disk check (booting, of course, off the NASLite floppy), and then shut it down normally.

Re-install it in the old clunker, and it will be fine!

That just shows you what is posted in earlier postings, that large disks require more RAM to do a disk check.

It also shows you one of the great features of NASLite - how simple it is to transfer the disks from machine to machine w/o data loss or re-configuring everything!
