Could not get a disk made from windows myself,
best way is to do from Linux as suggested or buy the disk provided here
I done it from a Live cd version of Feather Linux i think it was

well like I said I used Feather Linux
available here

http://featherlinux.berlios.de

and followed the instructions on the front page

gunzip NASLite.img.gz
fdformat /dev/fd0u1722
dd if=NASLite.img of=/dev/fd0u1722

but I am sure there are many others

i just put the disk image on my winxp machine, booted up with a knoppix cd, and then followed the directions listed above. worked perfectly, and i've had my NAS up and running for a week and a half now. pretty cool.

Well, no, you haven't.

The thread is here:
http://www.serverelements.com/phpBB2/vi ... 261d6e38da

My post CLEARLY states that is NOT possible to make the naslite disk from within Windows NT/XP/2003.

The disk can be made from within Linux, Dos, Windows 9x.

The Linux instructions are on main page.

I posted the DOS/win9x howto there, because not everyone know how to use Linux.

It is confirmed to be WORKING if you follow instructions.

You NEED to try with a few floppies, possibly different brand ones, as per point 7) in above mentioned post.
